After my return to Three Rivers I took over the duties of a General Superintendent, more by assumption I suppose, than by appointment. There had been, prior to that time, no such a position but the company activities had expanded to the point that such a level of command was needed. I seemed to get along well with, and was accepted by, all of the Foremen and General Foremen, so I exercised the duties of the position until I felt like I wanted to ease off. There were many interesting and sometimes exciting, events that took place during those years that followed the Florida job. I will try to describe a few of them.
